WhatsApp is being added to the desktop application
The popular social media app WhatsApp is going to launch video and voice calling facility on the desktop. This feature of WhatsApp is not currently available through the desktop app.
However, it is expected to reach all users soon.
Hern, a spokesman for WhatsApp, shared a picture on Twitter that shows both the video call and voice call options inside the chat on the desktop app.
This will allow WhatsApp users to make calls through multiple devices and will no longer be limited to smartphones.
Alex Horn tweeted a screenshot of two new call buttons - for video calling and voice calling. Currently, the desktop application has a search button, but soon video and call buttons will appear.
It is not yet clear how effective these calling buttons will be for desktop users, but it is currently in its experimental stages.
WhatsApp has already further updated the messaging and voice calling system via video on the desktop.
However, Facebook has not yet announced any new features of WhatsApp, but the good news for users will come soon.
